Poem 500 – In pursuit of the perfect poem

In Pursuit of writing the perfect poem,

A quatrain or Shakespearian sonnet.

From the Bible about Gods throne,

Or as angels before his Holy Spirit.

Alliteration always assertive and applicable.

In any poem with rhythm, rhyme and content.

Using simile like or as is immeasurable,

Even onomatopoeia may be used to vent.

Syllables stressed but neatly paced,

Nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives.

All describing speech strategically placed,

So the poet can bring across his objectives.

Landscapes and portraits make up a poem,

But the best place to do them is right at home.
